Athens
Ok the last two days blogs are in reverse order so hope you can figure them out. Today we spent in Athens and it is sunny and gorgeous-hot. We watched at the Parliament building as some dignitaries arrived and viewed the troops and placed a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. They closed off the sidewalk in front of the Parliament and we watched from across the 4 lanes of traffic. We had our cheese pie-yum-and wandered the Plaka, went into the Agora and wandered around, enjoyed just sitting on benches and enjoying the views of the Parthenon and the Temple of Hesphestus(Vulcan). We found shoeslaces! Granted, they are tan and may be an interesting combination on the shoes, but hey, we found them! Jim does have two pair of shoes so it has not been like he has been barefooted, but it is nice to have both pair where he can wear them again. We took the metro back to Pireaus and are at McDonalds using the internet. I think the same song has been playing the whole time but it is probably just me-they all sound alike when it is something I don't like. We will be at sea tomorrow so I will not be able to post to the blog until the next day when we should be at Dubrovnik, Croatia. We have already bought shuttle tickets into town so that makes it nice for us to be able to wander on our own. We have really enjoyed the day today just doing our own thing and remembering our last time here and seeing if we could remember how to get from one place to another.
