Tues night

We had a great time on our boat ride and dinner and Thai dancing tonight. The boat ride was from out in the country into downtown Chiang Mai near our hotel and it was really pretty. We saw a big snake in the water-it was several inches thick and about 2' long that we could see and then he went under. I don't know how big he would have been if we had seen all of him! we had good snacks and cokes as we went along and it was very relaxing and pretty. Then we went to a local restaurant where we sat on the floor and took our shoes off and left them at the door. Actually, our tables had places for us to put our legs but not all tables did. It was a pretty good meal as Thai meals go and then there was a dance performance afterwards for about an hour and half. It was quite impressive and pretty. We are getting up at 5AM tomorrow and leaving at 5:30 to go to the alms giving ceremony of the buddhist monks. We will come back and eat breakfast after that before we begin the rest of the day. Every day has been jammed packed and we have loved it. I think the things we wanted to do the most have been done though so we are winding down and slowing down a bit, which is good. I hope we will be so tired on the way home that we will just sleep the 26 hours away. lol
