more from Cuzco

Ok, so I got a picture to post! Yea. This hotel has free wifi in the lobby but doesn't have any connection in the room. So I will have to go recharge and do some more later. Peru is like some other places we have been where you have to put the toilet paper in the trashcan instead of in the toilet and we can't brush teeth with the water. So we are just adjusting and trying to get used to things. The scenery is lovely and so far the food has been pretty good. We've all eaten together so our guide has helped me with the garlic and onion thing. I had a cheese omelet for lunch. Ok those that know me know that I LOVE cokes...well, let's say these are the most awful tasting cokes I have ever had. This may help me break my habit. Jim says the diet ones are the same way. THis is Jim in our hotel lobby today. He is doing great. I think the shot has kicked in but he has walked A LOT and he is doing really well.

I, too, loved Cuzco. Ancient, golden, and, yes - really old plumbing.

Your trip is quite different than the one I took with OAT 3 years ago. I'm a little surprised they took you to high altitude so quickly.

Drink the coca tea before your ascent to Machu Picchu. Even with the tea, it is breathtaking! Culturally, spiritually and physically.

Have you been in the lowlands, yet? Sacred Valley? Lima?
