Here we are in Tiananmen Square. All I can say is, wow. Both Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City are just huge. It was actually a sunny day but the haze/pollution is still bad and it is difficult if not impossible to get the camera to show it in all its glory. We were fortunate in that today was cooler than they have been having. Now understand, that means it was not 102 but more like 95 or so. They tell us the smog is good today and how cool it is so we were just thankful that we were there today. Also, the crowds were really low today. We had been warned about the thousands of people and while there were a lot, it was not crammed and we were thankful for that as well. The hawkers were all over and we are all getting pretty good at fending them off.
